Timing of transitions, their patterns, and antecedents from emerging to established adulthood in the context of a changing society

This study focuses on life transition patterns and their psychosocial antecedents in a cohort of established adults who grew up during major macrosocial changes the Czech society. The Generation 2020 longitudinal followed former university students since 2007. first wave occurred when were 18-32 years old; second they 29-43 old. In wave, completed questionnaires identity styles, emotional control, self-efficacy (in terms perceived control). Life History Calendar, focusing timing transitions: moving from parental home, entry into cohabitation, marriage, parenthood, regular employment. Latent class analysis revealed four work-oriented singles, normative timing, family-oriented, group with delayed partnership family. Further showed that control not related to any pattern transitions, but several styles significant predictors, particularly for early marriage results indicate certain change transitions compared older age cohorts importance self-concept later functioning.
